From Then to Now

Back in my very first blogging days (over four years ago!), I intentionally treated my Xanga blog like a diary, detailing events that occurred each day and what my thoughts were on those different things that happened. It became a way of "getting my thoughts straight" everyday and recalling memories with more ease whenever I look back.

A lot to things have changed. Life has been busy. It's been hard finding time to pause, reflect and put the metaphorical pen to paper.

I try to be as candid as possible but I have to be honest: it's hard here. I might attribute it to the blinding lights of Blogger and my close-knit community that is both a blessing and a curse. Here I find something of an audience, but at times I know I must hold back. Maybe that's okay.

Dude, I don't think this was ever the sort of place for putting all your feelings out there. This is public, 3rd space, not a confessional.

Of course not, good sir! =) I never intended it as a confessional either. I just occasionally find it difficult to write my opinions without feeling judged for my honesty. It's likely an area that I need some growing in: to be wiser with words and more confident in my topics.

There are a lot of entries I write that I never posted. Though I'm tempted to express how I'm really feeling or how I"m really doing. Once in awhile I do, but I don't get into much detail. I think I'd rather share in person, though I don't always get an opportunity. So yeah, I know what you mean.

I agree with what everyone has already shared. Yes, blogging is much like a journal. But because it's public and out there, you can't always say what you want to say.
But I know exactly where you're coming from, brother. I have the same problem!

Hmm... then maybe people might find my topics too touchy or controversial.

BTW, it was good hanging out with you briefly on Saturday at the GLASS Convention

I just added you to my blog page... as your requested. Now, people will know that we're friends. Yikes! :)
